Welcome to Nelson!

Year 5 kicked of their Performing Arts topic by meeting a local magician - Magic Steph.

She taught the children a few trick of the trade and showed some of her more complex tricks. The children were able to ask Steph about her life as a magician and what the would of Performing Arts meant to her.

On Monday 27th January, Nelson Class went on a trip to The London Museum of Water and Steam because we were learning about Victorians, inventors and inventions.

We participated in activities which included a quiz, role play and problem solving, and we went on an interactive tour on forces and engines. At the end of the day, Nelson Class (including Miss Abery) went to the Splash Zone together and had SO much fun playing with the water equipment, creating dams and going through tunnels.

The children loved the experience and are still talking about him now!
 
I was very impressed how he responded to the children and we have learnt so much as a year group from him.

The visitor was really informative and presented the information in a calm, easy manner.

He had an aura about him; we all felt very comfortable in his company and learned new information.
